In this paper we start from the two classic methods of approximate development of a sphere: the gore method and the zone method. For each of the two methods, we study the errors of approximation. It is considered an approximate development of sphere using gore method, in 3 variants, using successively: 4 meridian (vertical) planes (resulting 8 gores), 5 meridian planes (10 gores) and 6 meridian planes (12 gores). Also for the same sphere, the approximate development is obtained using successively: 7 level planes (resulting 8 zones), 9 level planes (10 zones) and 11 level planes (12 zones). For every variant of development, the error is calculated by comparing the area of approximate development and the theoretical area of the sphere. A computerized method based on Maple procedures is used. The driving force behind these developments is the new design freedom given by the additive manufacturing (AM) of ceramics. With this technology, the complexity of form is no longer an obstacle for profitable solutions. The application of fractals in this context is very promising, since it takes advantage of the new freedom while on the other hand the algorithms for the generation of such forms are relatively easy to handle. This paper presents some proposals for heat exchangers or mixing structures, which are inspired by natural formations. The underlying assumption is: the efficiency of a heat exchanger increases with the surface area of the wall between the fluids. The surfaces here are derived from a series of fractal curves within a given outer shape. The authors did not find in the literature solutions for this problem, but they observed that can be easily found only methods for measuring of the dihedral angle. Starting from these considerations, in this paper, the authors propose two solutions for specifying a plane by using the dihedral angle, then compares them and recommend one of the two. This simplified method eliminates the rotation axis, being a particular case of level or front rotation methods. The omission of the rotation axis involves performing compound rotational and translational movements, successive movements, until the studied element occupies a convenient position in space, relative to the projection planes, which allows the graphical representation of real dimensions (lengths, angles, areas). We really know how important is the graphic representation of each sport event. That means a LOGO. This paper talks about LOGO, the main character in our research for these special events. A logo is a graphic tool allowing an easier identification of something. We have identified very interesting symbols, colours, shapes and other graphic representations which have personalized the event. As a special working direction, it was to study the logos of Olympic Summer and Winter Games along the time. The result astonished us, because we have seen various graphic representations having a lot in common. We have paid attention, also, to other sport competitions all over the world, identifying the graphics and the typology of logos used in this field. We have made „a dissection” of these representations and the conclusions were so interesting. This research highlights the characteristic features of massive kula type buildings by masonry built before 1900. A general presentation of these buildings is being performed, from the point of view of unique and particular features, in two distinct cases. The analysis carried out highlights common and different features for each construction. The behavior and the previsions about the lifetime duration of the massive masonry are influenced by parameters such as the constructive system, the geometric shape, the buildings materials properties. These are the parameters analyzed in this paper in order to be used as input in modeling the structures subjected to occasional loads (strong winds, massive snow accumulations, earthquakes, extreme temperatures, humidity, erosion and biological degradation). In such situations the destruction of the masonry elements and the collapse occur due to the accumulated fatigue in the component elements. Primarily, the paper focuses on the development and virtual representation of the scooter concept through iterative improvements and the elimination of the weaknesses of design of the previous solution. After three successive iterations a final version is obtained that fully meets the requirements list. Secondly, during concept development, an evaluation of these concept variants is proposed, based on technical and economic criteria. Finally, a positioning matrix of the proposed product is obtained in relation to existing products on the market. A discussion of solutions based on the requirements list is offered also. Behind photorealistic renderings lies the precise modeling of the building. The development of technology has led to the fact that today is very easy to get from 2D sketches to 3D models. That’s why it’s important to minimize the time required to finish this part of work and choose the right software for it. In architectural education in Serbia, the most used programs are AutoCAD and 3ds Max. Software as AutoCAD provide simple drawing of 2D plans of any object, while the realistic rendering can be easily obtained in 3ds Max. The question is which program to choose for the middle phase-creating a 3D model. In this paper we will compare the time needed for the same tasks as well as advantages and disadvantages of both programs. Because, as we know, we can identify a car or, in many cases, a car manufacturer, only by seeing its logo. In this research study we have „questioned” a lot of logos for different cars, identifying the geometric shapes, colours and symbols used to create distinct and expressive logos. During our research, we have understood that a logo for any car is not the result of an easy work, but the designer has to prove creativity, imagination and graphic skills, by taking into consideration the two stages of the design, namely: The Preliminary Research and the Creative Working. This „investigation trip” inside the universe of logos was a privilege for us, highlighting, once again, the great importance of the graphic representation for any product / service etc. Our research has been developed over three months, allowing us to accumulate a huge quantity of information as regards such special logos. We have identified different colours and symbols used in logos, interesting geometric associations and, also, many examples for redesigning in time cars’ logos. For a car, a logo is an adequate and eloquent element of identification. A CAD model of a gearbox is designed in SolidWorks. The dynamic simulation of the gearbox is performed with ADAMS multibody software. In the first step of the simulation the parts are considered as rigid ones. The second step of the simulation proposes to consider the elasticity of the parts, especially of the gearbox shafts. For that, the shafts are meshed with tetrahedral finite elements in order to be considered as deformable solids. The first part of the paper presents the state of the art of numerical methods and graphical determination of the thermal comfort in buildings. Using the advanced modelling techniques, in the second part of the paper, the office volume with the ventilation and evacuation systems are modelled. The simulation is achieved using the CFD module from the SolidWorks software, where is assigned the mechanical properties to all components. In this paper are studied three simulation cases. This material is very strong and manufactured parts are not very flexible. By using metamaterials some models of human running prosthesis were created and a number of simulations were made through SolidWorks Design Study package. Used approach allows finding of the best solution for custom-made human running prosthesis with the best characteristics.<br>Present paper gives the evidence that using of smart geometrical design of inner structure of various parts and models to reduce its mass and improve their mechanical characteristics is possible. The advantage of centromedular fixation is that it allows the bone to physically load as much as possible, minimizing the risk of implant failure. The drawbacks of conventional nails have been eliminated with the introduction of the centromedular stem locking system. The purpose of this study was to obtain several virtual biomechanical systems on which to study several types of tibial fractures and several osteosynthesis systems. Starting from the tomographic images of the tibia, a virtual model of this bone component was developed. This model was "finalized" and modified using certain Geomagic techniques and then imported into SolidWorks. The osteosynthesis element used was the rigid classical nail with orthopedic screws which was modeled using the direct observation and measurement method. The latest research, results and methods, to determining the comfort in means of transport are presented in the first part of the paper. The thermal comfort study is carried out on an existing bus geometry. The bus geometry is modelled in SolidWorks using blueprints available on the web. The simulation is done for three cases: the first case where the ventilation system is open at maximum capacity, the second case where the ventilation system works at maximum capacity whit the air deflectors mounted for a better distribution of the air and the last case when the bus velocity is 14m/s whit two rear windows opened. The results of the first simulations are analysed and a location of deflectors is proposed for an optimal distribution of air inside the bus. The paper presents an advanced digital methodology for the multi-criterial analysis of the urban fractures in order to discover ways of defining and regenerating them. It is complex due to the complicated geometry, but also to the biomechanics of this joint. Initially, three-dimensional scanning of a femur was attempted, but due to the fact that only the outer geometry could be obtained, this method was dropped. Computational methods have been used that based on identifying shades of gray on tomographic images and transposing them into geometries (surfaces). These surfaces processed with the Geomagic program were transformed into virtual solids in SolidWorks. In this program, bone components were assembled and pubic symphysis was modeled. Finally, the model was exported to Ansys where, based on normal walking loads, a finite element method simulation was performed. For this reason, it is very important to be able to shape, in a first phase, the components of the prosthesis, which can then be tested virtually. For this purpose, the components of the prosthesis with fixation pins were firstly scanned three-dimensionally. This operation resulted in a model of a "cloud of points" which was subsequently transformed into virtual surfaces, then into virtual solids. This prosthesis can be inserted into a biomechanical model of the hip joint and tested using the finite element method. These images were processed with a program that allows the transformation of tomographic images into three-dimensional geometries based on gray shades. In an initial phase these geometries were in the form of discontinuous surfaces, which were then processed, finalized and transformed into virtual solids. Thus, in the SolidWorks program the dental-maxillary device was obtained as virtual solids. Such a Multi Body model has undergone kinematic simulations in the Motion model of SolidWorks, where the entire load system to which the analyzed model is subjected. This problem was approached during the course of “An introduction to technical creativity” and a possible solution was reached with the help of students, using brainstorming and the 3d criteria method. The proposed concept consists in building an underground cemetery, as a buried tower of minimum 20 floors down, which can accommodate hundreds of coffins. The building will appear, at the ground-floor level, like a funeral monument, but in depth, the access to the burial chambers will be made with an elevator placed at the middle of the structure. The study program consists of Undergraduate Academic Studies (UAS) that last 4 years (8 semesters), Master Academic Studies (MAS) that last a year and Doctoral Academic Studies (DAS) that last 3 years. The first generation of students enrolled in 2011 and this generation finished their UAS and graduated with an engineering degree in Computer Graphics. Now they are studying at MAS and the first student received a master degree in September 2018. UAS comprise 48 subjects, 37 compulsory subjects and 11 elective positions with a choice of several subjects, while MAS comprise 11 subjects with three elective positions. This article shows the curriculum of UAS, MAS and DAS, with the list of subjects, the number of classes for each subject and European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) for these Curricula. A general division of our study program would be into two parts: one in which students learn all the techniques and software needed for digital production of animated films and visual effects and the other which is primarily focused on the processing or manipulation with pictures. The mechanism has an additional kinematic chain that provides the drawing point of the curve as the center of a variable length straight segment. There are given the successive positions of the mechanism and the drawn curve, as well as the similar curves obtained at different positions of the fixed vertical straight and the driving's element joint. Different kinds of projections are able to represent things like size, areas, distances or perspective, realistically. One particular kind of projection used for representing spheres and circles on spheres in two dimensions (i.e. some maps of the earth or celestial sphere) is stereographic projection. Stereographic projection has two important characteristics that differentiate it from other kinds of projections: it preserves circles and angles. This paper discloses the construction of the stereographic projection of the celestial sphere over Belgrade as the clock face of the astronomical clock. This astronomical clock will be capable to present the motion, as seen from the Earth, of the Sun, Moon, Ecliptic and the phases of the Moon during the year. Older field cultivators are suitable for modification for row cropping. The crops and the tractor power available will determine specific needs. Factors to consider include row spacing and row spacing flexibility, whether you need a towed or tractor mounted unit, frame size and layout, ease of levelling, ease of moving, removing, and replacing shanks, overall machine condition, and the robustness of the shanks. Calculations in deformable body mechanics, thermal conduction, dynamic analysis, etc. lead to global systems of equations with many unknowns. Subdivision of CC II faces in geometrically defined way can be observed as a part of the design process, if done with the intention to contribute to the aesthetic quality of the building itself. In this paper we discuss certain interventions on the tiled triangular faces of the CC II by regular triangles and hexagons, in order to get patterns applicable in architecture. By using different colors and / or materials of the tiles, we can get solutions that add the decorative layer to the structural one. Examining various solutions, this research focused on the D3 subdivision of the lateral polyhedral triangle (LPT) and in the resulting uniform tilings, searching for the ways to overcome monotony of highly symmetrical patterns. As opposed to exploring the ways of assembling the tiled LPTs with assigned layouts of tiles into shape of the CC II in order to get desired patterns on its surface, this paper explores the creation of various patterns within the existing, formerly obtained uniform tilings (2-uniform, trihexagonal tiling). Starting from the geometric information related to its generation, the synthesis of an original generating mechanism was performed firstly, followed by the realization of its structural analysis. Mechanism’s positions were computed and the imposed curve was generated. The variations of certain trajectories were deduced from the corresponding diagrams. The mechanism sizes were modified and a wide class of curves presenting interest from the geometric point of view was obtained. From a series of geometric consequences, we pick out a few which are relevant for kinematics: When a logarithmic spiral rolls on a line, its asymptotic point traces a straight line. Hence, wheels with the shape of a logarithmic spiral can be used for a stair climbing robot. When involute spur gears are to be generated by virtue of the principle of Camus, the auxiliary pitch curves must be logarithmic spirals. Two congruent logarithmic spirals can roll on each other while their asymptotic points remain fixed. A composition of two such rollings gives a two-parametric motion which allows a second decomposition of this kind. Some of these properties hold similarly for the spherical counterparts, the spherical loxodromes. For example, when in spherical geometry a loxodrome rolls on a circle, both asymptotic points trace circular involutes. Therefore, spherical loxodromes are auxiliary pitch curves for involute bevel gearing. On the other hand, spherical loxodromes can also be seen as helical curves in the projective model of hyperbolic geometry, where the sphere serves as a Clifford surface.
