Abstract

The current paper presents timber framing structures and their design process using CADWORK BIM 3D-CAD/CAM software. The fundamental principles of the timber framing system are briefly described, together with the main stages involved in modelling a timber structure in CADWORK program. A case study highlights the practical implementation of the method, emphasizing the main design steps and the generation of technical documentation. The analysis of the results underlines the advantages of using CADWORK for timber framing design, particularly in terms of design efficiency and the quality of this constructive solution.
